How was everyone’s weekend?! Mine was super busy but productive and after a few months of being insanely on-the-go, I finally got some work done around the new(ish) condo. I felt extremely proud of all my weekend accomplishments that I decided to host a couple friends over yesterday for a little apéro to break in my little patio nook!
A popular custom in the south of France, an apéro is more than a drink; it’s a healing ritual like kicking off your heels or loosening your tie at the end of a long day. The custom is an hour long, post-work get-together with friends spent conversing, sipping cocktails and nibbling hors d’oeurvres. It was the perfect early-week catch up with friends I missed over the weekend and thankfully the lovelies at Lillet Blanc set me up with the most adorable set of supplies for creating the perfect experience.
Lillet Blanc is a classic apertif from Bordeaux and a staple at sidewalk cafes and early evening cocktail parties across France. With hints of honey, candied orange, lime, and fresh mint, Lillet Blanc is a versatile spirit…it is seriously yummy and perfect for a warm summer evening. We enjoyed ours neat, on ice with an orange twist, but Lillet offered a collection of drink recipes that I am just dying to try for the summer! It was the sweetest little sip to celebrate an amazing start to the week and as I’m off on holiday tomorrow for the Canadian long weekend, I think things can only go up from here!
