Dinner with Bonne Maman

Last week I had the absolute pleasure of dining with some of Toronto’s most delightful foodies. Hosted by the lovely chef, Christine Tizzard and food writer, Joey Salmingo, we had a chance to test out some of Bonne Maman‘s legendary spreads alongside some of the most deliciously inspired dishes at Le Neuf Cafe.

For decades, Bonne Maman has created special preserves following traditional, cherished recipes. Bonne Maman continues  shaping the sweetest moments by producing our preserves in France using all natural ingredients with no artificial colorings, no additives or preservatives. The team decided to create these unique, custom food experiences, like the one we had last week, and I can honestly say it was truly such a divine evening with some of the best food I’ve ever had in the city. Chef Christine even shared with us how she brings the products into recipes in her own kitchen, “Two of my favourite flavours of Bonne Maman that are easily incorporated into  savory recipes are apricot and redcurrant. Apricot can be added to a glaze for roast chicken and the zesty currant jelly is wonderful with pork, duck, and even wild game.”

There is nothing that makes me happier than food bringing people together and this night was no exception. It was amazing to meet new faces and get out of my comfort food zone which hasn’t happened in a long time. I urge you to check out the recipes section on the Bonne Maman website (my personal favorite is this one for a holiday brunch)! And take a peek for inspiration from our menu of the night here:
