Ok you guys. Let’s get serious for a minute.
I have been trying to stay consistently fit throughout the year but as we head in to spring I am noticing I am totally getting lazy with my workout goals.
I’m a bit mad at myself because I was on such a solid regime and then things really went downhill after Bahamas and I just got super lazy.
I don’t even have a reason why.
Maybe it was seasonal, maybe it was pure laziness or no incentive because I wasn’t traveling for a couple months aka I didn’t have to wear a bikini.
Regardless it was frustrating because not only did all my hard work not pay off but I gained some weight and felt terrible in my mind and body.
So last month I made a conscious effort to reset.
Instead of being mad at myself I said you know what it’s happened and crying about it isn’t going to solve anything…you need to TAKE ACTION.
Like my 2017 mantra, Shut Up. Do It Now., I had to simply get back on that horse.
So that’s what I’ve been doing.
Getting back to a regular weekly workout routine and more importantly getting back to a healthy eating plan.
You have no idea, I was in a v serious relationship with my Uber Eats app and it was not cute.
One thing I’ve committed to is starting my day with a healthy juice or smoothie.
My mom got me on this and it’s really helped me because when I start the day with a positive attitude toward food I am more likely to keep that behavior throughout my day.
I’m happy to share what I add in my mix below and one thing that I use to enhance the flavor with natural sweetness and no added sugar is Florida Orange Juice.
Orange juice is an amazing source of vitamin C which we all know but what I did not know is that vitamin C directly impacts your body’s formation of collagen (hello healthy bones and skin) and is a good source of potassium which is so necessary for muscle function and recovery after tough workouts, like the one we did with Orange Theory Fitness which was honestly the most challenging workout I’ve done to date!
Being conscious of what I’m putting in my body and why has made a huge difference in linking my commitment to healthy living and actually sticking to it.
And I’m not saying I’m reformed and perfect, even if I can’t get my life together to make a smoothie before work, I’ll grab a glass of OJ because it’s a little sweetness to start my day and contains so many delicious benefits that I can feel good about drinking it.
It’s crazy to me how much better I feel even after a month of this new way of thinking and while I sometimes kick myself for not realizing this sooner, I’m excited to look forward and not only see how this goes but understand where it can take my body and my fitness goals.
