You had a chance to hear about Samara Zelniker of Mindfulness Matters a couple weeks ago on the Ya, We’re Basic. podcast. I had such an incredible time connecting with her and want to continue to share more about the amazing work she’s doing for millennial women looking for more in their everyday lives.
Read on below to learn even more about her and if you’re in Toronto be sure to sign up for one of the last spots for her Revitalize Retreat this coming Saturday, June 2nd.
Thanks again to Samara for sharing a little about herself and her work, x.
Tell us a bit about yourself!
Health and wellness has always been my jam. The fact that I have been able to make a career out of it makes me really happy! I love to be unconventional and not do what is expected of me. Taking risks is super important and have always been my biggest learning experiences. I am super close with my family and live in my dream city, Los Angeles.
What’s your zodiac sign?
What inspired you to start your business?
My journey of starting Mindfulness Matters seemed to be more of an inner knowing than a choice. After a service mission to Africa, where I helped train natives to be yoga teachers, I could see the impact it was having on their lives and the lives of the people they taught. I recognized that yoga was a tool for transformation and it was empowering people to be their best selves. The mission of empowering people on a daily basis was something that I wanted to be a part of and launched the company as a result.
What does a day in the life of YOU look like?
It involves a morning meditation and journaling practice, a workout and a healthy breakfast. Then I have couple of coaching calls with my amazing clients and teach a yoga class. I am also continually working on creating more content and programming for existing clients, upcoming retreats and online offerings. I love to collaborate with like-minded people so I usually have a couple of meetings throughout the week to discuss potential projects. Living in LA there are always a lot of amazing wellness events that I like to attend. Oh and lots of time with my dog Frankie!
What’s the hardest part of being a Boss Babe? The best part?
Sometimes it can feel like you are putting so much effort in and not seeing the intended result. Nothing ever works on our timeline right? The best part is seeing the transformation in the lives of the clients that I work with.
What’s the biggest message you want to share through your platform?
When you change your mindset you change your life.
Best piece of advice you can give up and coming boss babes?
Listen to the whisper and follow through with what you know to be true. Define what success means to you and keep your head down as you follow through on what you want. Keep putting energy back into yourself in order to show up in the best way for your business and for others!
Do you have a daily mantra or affirmation?
It’s always changing depending on where I am at but one I am currently loving is how you do anything is how you do everything.
How would this Boss Base describe herself?
Open-minded, kind, ambitious, hard working, honest.
Plug yourself! Give us some shameless self promotion and let us know what you’re currently up to!
I’m currently working with my dream clients who are generally overachieving women looking to make a shift in their lives but are not sure where to start. They may be burnt out, stressed and overwhelmed. This is where I come in to help them transition to a life filled with ease, fulfillment and freedom. We create an action plan together, and execute it over 6 months in small measurable goals. I am looking to take over more dream clients! I also have an upcoming one day retreat in Toronto called Revitalize where we take care of you for the day through yoga, meditation, breakthrough coaching sessions and healthy food. If you are looking to get away for longer, I host an annual retreat in Costa Rica every year in beautiful Pavones!
